Dear Devotees,

We are pleased to inform you that we are planning on establishing a Temple for Lord Muruga in Michigan which will be the first of its kind in our nearby locations. Subramanya has all the qualities of His parents. His 5 faces represent that of Shiva as Bhootanaatha and the 6th face is of Goddess Parvathi as Shakthi. When one prays to Subramanya, indirectly one prays to Shiva and Parvathi too.

Lord Subramanya (also known as Murugan, Kartikeya, or Skanda) is a popular Hindu deity, often depicted with six faces and is known as "Shanmukha," which means "one with six faces" in Sanskrit. Each of Lord Subramanya's six faces represents a different attribute or quality:

  • Tatpurusha : Represents the quality of control and restraint.
  • Aparajita : Symbolizes the unconquerable nature.
  • Sadyojata : Signifies the power of creation.
  • Vamadeva : Represents the power of preservation.
  • Ishana : Represents the power of destruction.
  • Kartikeya : The central face, which represents the self or the soul.

Lord Subramanya is often worshipped for his wisdom, valor, and the ability to conquer obstacles. He is a deity associated with courage, knowledge, and spiritual growth. His six faces are a symbol of his multifaceted nature and divine attributes.

We have seven Chakras, the energy centers within us. The energy surges through the 6 Chakras and stabilizes at the 6th Chakra, the Ajna Chakra (the area present in the middle of our eyebrows). It blossoms as Lord Subramanya, symbolizing Guru Tattva.

Shiva is the unmanifested Divinity, while Lord Subramanya is the manifested Divinity.

So, Subramanya is the symbol of Kundalini Shakthi. By praying to Subramanya, we are praying to the Kundalini energy within us and thus activating it. Lord Subramanya helps us destroy harmful and evil nature within us and conquer sensual desires.
